My Relationship With Art

My relationship to art is long and ever-changing. My mom is a kindergarten teacher and has been dedicated to implementing art and expression into her lesson plans since she began her career. My aunt is a very accomplished abstract artist and sent me a book about Georgia O'Keefe when I was six that I was absolutely obsessed with. I have been encouraged to experiment with different mediums as an outlet for emotional and artistic expression from a very young age. I have found a lot of passion for music and writing. I have also dabbled in sculpting, painting, collaging and jewelry making. Art is very cathartic for me and I continue to use each medium as it presents inspiration to me, as well as taking every opportunity to learn about art in school and otherwise.
